They did a good job of not letting TJ Yates know that he was in a chance of a lifetime game, one that would make history for the Texans and make history for the City of Houston. TJ showed class, nerves of steel, and poise as if this were his 50th game and not his maiden voyage into the NFL!

Whether is was the coaching, the team stepping up despite devastating injuries or Jesus (Tebow can’t have Him all the time!), it was apparent on Sunday that Texans came to win. Not to just play but to win!

Football should be entertaining and that is what we all got in this game. Coach Kubiak made a gutsy call to go for 1st down when faced with a 4th down decision. A year ago, I doubt that Kubiak would have gone for it. With the team in his house today, it was a no brainer.

Wade was despised in Dallas but we love him here. He has added a coaching dimension that not only boosted the defense but gave a cohesiveness to the whole team. Kubiak is not an ego maniac nor a micro manager coach so the fit is nice and seamless. Like Abbot and Costello, Fric and Frac, Yin and Yang, Soup and Salad, this is a team that goes together like birds of a feather!

The team stepped up and now something special is happening in this city. We can’t really get giddy because of Andre Johnson and Cushing injuries but we can smile really, really big.

This is an ensemble cast with group leadership. It works and we like it! Luv Ya Bull!

Other than the time when Luv Ya Blue was around, I can’t think of another time when Houston fans were so ignited about their football franchise the Houston Texans. Is is time to brand our own team as LUV YA BULL and respect the mascot “Toro” the bull?

I can only say that Houston is a proud city. It is a city that loves to hate a loser but loves to support a winner like no other city in the world. They show up late and leave early but give them a winner and no one can keep them out. Just like a bull, fans can be red hot mad about football today in Houston. This team is now #1 in the AFC. National luv is soon to follow!

Right now there is chatter on the Internet and on radio talk shows about 70,000 pom poms or signs for the next home game. I could not agree more! Show the pride, big as Texas. the Texans and their fans have paid their dues. Not everyone can be a season ticket holder but everyone can tune in and show support. In times like these, it is fun to escape to something that is as exhilarating as this 2011-2012 season.

Don’t go thinking Luv YA BULL is anywhere connected with the NFL or the old Oilers team. It is the new Texans’ fan choice and we want to buzz it up and keep them hot! This kind of home town frenzy and support can only make Texans better to annihilate the next team and get on down the path to the play offs and ultimately be a Super Bowl Team contender!

Gary Kubiak must have awakened on Monday morning pinching himself saying “Was this a dream?”. Reality is, no Gary it’s the real deal !

The Texans have the football Gods on their side this year from calls going their way, to Kubiak’s red flag pursuits, to going into the Bye Week giving Andre Johnson another week to recover from his hamstring injury. The stars are lined up it appears, and the the Texans now are tied with Pittsburgh for the best record in the AFC.

When the Texans return from their Bye Week to play at Jacksonville on Nov. 27, they’ll be vying for the first single-season five-game winning streak in team history.

So I’m giving the Texans Luv today, luvying the great team they have (earned) become and wanting more. Really, the off week is a bummer in some ways because when things are going this great, we would Luv to see more!

When I think about Vince Young, I think about Texas football. Yes, he has a lot of baggage. Yes, he is emotionally young (no pun intended) . But one thing Vince Young brings to the table is talent something that the Texans could use more of.

One problem that is consistent with The Houston Texans is the inability to get creative with talented players. A lttle controversy usually accompanies the best players, it is their destiny to be intense and step over the line to get things done. Too many times Texans players go the timid route, patting the opposition players on the back, picking them up off the field after a good hit, and generally being soft. Vice Young is a work in progress. Given time and more NFL experience, he will grow and the team that takes the time to help him develop his personal dicipline will ultimately benefit.

Another reason is Youngs’ fan base. He will sell tickets even when the team is not so hot. Next year will be a year for the Texans to make or break Kubiak, Young can make it.

Think of Michael Vick and the diversity it added to the Eagles despite his troubles off the field. Give these troubled guys time and some sound coaching and it will pay off in the end. Trust the team to help lead this young man and push him to get them to the playoffs.

But the question remains with a team that has a hisory of “not going there”. Let’s hope next year games won’t be decided in the last few seconds, but by early scoring …with the assistance of a popular Texas player.

It would be awesome if we could get LT,CB, RB, OLB and a free safety in off season; resign our probowl FS alternate Demps; sign our free agent WR/returner Andre Davis; and have a better year by just not having our injured guys out of the game. Should we also have a less injury filled season it is entirely possible to get to playoffs.

Injuries hurt, no doubt about that. It is nearly impossible to gage the strength of the Houston Texans without first string players on the field so much of the time. We have seen a dramatic decrease in QB sacks and Coach says that will improve even more this year.

Sage has given confidence to the extension of leadership for the team and makes a selection for QB next year a bit worrisome. I don’t want to see it be a distraction, it should be a “positive” with this much talented depth in QB position. All in all - it is a nice problem for us to have!

The wide reciever position is strong and this will definitely open up the offense more with more points on the board. Look to see the first of the season as the real test.
Next season is going to have a different face on it. NO doubt having Andre in every game will be a boost. Kubiac has earned the trust and respect of the team and Ric smith can bring in new blood during the year if needed. Keeping the team healthy is a priority, but then again these guys are human!
