HOUSTON-APRIL 29,2008  The Houston Texans 2008 Draft Luncheon was held today at the Westin Galleria & Westin Oaks. Marc Vandermeer, the Voice of the Houston Texans on SportsRadio ,was emcee and did a great job at keeping things moving and exciting!! Fans packed the room and frequently let out cheers to show their spirit of the BULL!!.

The 2008 Reliant Energy Scholarship for Champions Award Recipients were honored and included Erin Jackson,Stratford High School; Adrian Maldonado, Galena Park High School; Holly Moreno, Pearland High School; Ian Osei-Kuffor, Alief Hastings High School; Kortnee Danielle Pevehouse, Clear Creek High School; and Tyler Jared Teykl, B.F.Terry High School.

Also recognized were the Touchdown Club Scholar-Athlete of the year Awards. Those honored were Segun Olomojob, Texas Southern, Arnoldo Reveulta, Prairie View A&M, Harry Simon, University of Houston and Robbie Heos, Rice University.

TEAM AWARDS: Anthony Weaver, Ed Block Courage Award, Mark Bruener, Spirit of the Bull Award, Ephraim Salaam, Mickey Herskowitz Award, Fred Bennett, Rookie of the Year, DeMeco Ryans, Most Valuable Player.

Much trash talking was happening to and from Donald Driver, 2008 Greater Houston NFL Player of the Year. Receiver Donald Driver, who played at Milbe High School in Houston, is the 2008 winner of the Greater Houston NFl Player of the Year Award. Driver, 33, is a 10-year veteran who played at Alcorn State before being drafted by the Green Bay Packers.
